Got scammed last time - need honest recs

Hey everyone! Last year I booked a "cheap" mover to Israel and they held my stuff hostage for extra fees. Finally got everything but totally traumatized. Now I'm actually making aliyah and terrified of repeat drama. Anyone used a moving company to Israel that was actually transparent with pricing and didn't pull hidden charges? Would love names of companies you personally trusted with your belongings.
Ugh, that hostage situation is every new olim's worst nightmare! I went through something similar my first time - "budget" quote turned into $3k in surprise fees once my stuff was already in transit. Felt completely powerless. Second time around (making aliyah for real), I insisted on written quotes that broke down EVERY single charge: ocean freight, packing, insurance, port fees, delivery. No vague "handling fees" or "customs charges" that could balloon later. Found house removals to Israel  through a friend who'd also gotten burned. They sent a detailed inventory-based quote upfront, explained exactly what was included, and the final bill matched it perfectly. Zero surprises. My advice: always get at least 3 quotes and compare line by line. If something looks too good to be true, it probably is. Also ask specifically about Israeli port fees and customs - those are the usual hidden cost traps. The slightly higher upfront quote is worth not getting held ransom at the finish line. Good luck with your aliyah!

I really feel for anyone who runs into hidden charges during an international move. A family friend had a similar experience on their first shipment to Israel and promised never to rely on a vague estimate again. For their next move they used a house removals to Israel company that provided a detailed written quote before anything was packed, so every cost was clear from the start. It made the whole process much less stressful, and there were no unexpected fees when the shipment finally arrived.
