Is dropshipping worth it?

Been thinking about getting into marketplace selling for a while. But I keep reading about the risks, like some dropshipping suppliers just taking the money and never actually sending the order, and then you're the one stuck refunding the buyer out of your own pocket. Seen a pretty good amount of complaints about that too. So is it actually worth it or has dropshipping basically just become a scam at this point?

Dropshipping gets a bad rap but plenty of people are making decent money with it. The thing is it's not some passive income dream where you set it up and forget it, you actually have to stay on top of your suppliers and your listings. But the fact that you're not buying inventory upfront is a pretty solid advantage when you're just starting out and don't want to risk a ton of cash.

The complaints you're seeing are almost always about the same thing, someone went with a supplier offering prices that seemed too good to be true and got burned. Chasing the lowest possible cost from whoever you find first is where it goes wrong. Read through whether dropshipping is actually a scam here: https://easync.io/articles/dropshipping-a-scam/ .
