Fortnite is adding another legendary gaming franchise to its ever-growing collection of crossovers. This week, Kingdom Hearts is set to make its Fortnite debut, with Sora confirmed to appear in the game on September 17.

The upcoming collaboration is part of Fortnite's current celebration of iconic gaming characters. After featuring names such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Pac-Man, and Crash Bandicoot, Epic Games is now turning its attention to the colorful world of Kingdom Hearts.

Sora Is Confirmed for Fortnite

The first major reveal centers around Sora, the main protagonist of Kingdom Hearts. Fortnite recently shared a short video featuring the character, confirming that he will soon become available in the game.
Sora's arrival is particularly exciting for longtime Kingdom Hearts players, as the character has become one of the most recognizable figures in modern gaming. His appearance also opens the door for other familiar characters to potentially join Fortnite.
Although Epic has not officially revealed the complete lineup, community speculation is already growing.

Could Riku, Roxas and Kairi Join Him?

Shortly after the Sora announcement, Fortnite posted several mysterious messages associated with the initials K, R, and R. Fans quickly connected these clues with three important Kingdom Hearts characters: Kairi, Riku, and Roxas.

The hints have led many players to believe that all three characters could receive Fortnite skins as part of the collaboration.
If that happens, the crossover could become much larger than a single Sora outfit. A lineup featuring Sora, Riku, Roxas, and Kairi would give Kingdom Hearts fans plenty of reasons to visit the Fortnite Item Shop when the event launches.
For now, players will need to wait for Epic's official announcements before treating the additional character skins as confirmed.

When Does the Kingdom Hearts Collaboration Start?

The Kingdom Hearts x Fortnite crossover is scheduled for September 17, 2026. More information about the available outfits, accessories, and other cosmetics could be revealed around the launch date.

As with other major Fortnite collaborations, players who want to collect several cosmetics may want to check their V-Bucks balance beforehand. Fortnite V-Bucks are used to purchase many Item Shop cosmetics, including crossover outfits when they become available.

Another Major Gaming Crossover for Fortnite

Kingdom Hearts is only the latest addition to Fortnite's expanding gaming universe. Epic has increasingly used the game as a platform where characters from completely different franchises can appear together.

The arrival of Sora continues that trend while potentially introducing a much larger Kingdom Hearts-themed collection. The mysterious references to Riku, Roxas, and Kairi have also created an extra layer of anticipation ahead of the September 17 release.
For collectors, the crossover could be especially interesting if multiple character outfits and themed cosmetics launch at the same time.

Final Thoughts

The Kingdom Hearts crossover gives Fortnite players another highly recognizable gaming franchise to look forward to. Sora is confirmed for September 17, while the cryptic clues surrounding Riku, Roxas, and Kairi suggest that more characters could be on the way.

Whether you're a dedicated Kingdom Hearts fan or simply enjoy collecting Fortnite crossover cosmetics, keeping some Fortnite V-Bucks available could be useful when the new items arrive. With the collaboration approaching quickly, September 17 is a date worth watching for anyone interested in the next major Fortnite gaming crossover.
