U4gm How to Take Down Beira of the Rotten Pack in POE2 Early Guide
If you’re new to Path of Exile 2, Beira of the Rotten Pack is probably the first boss that really makes you stop and think. She’s waiting up north in Clearfell, tucked inside a small arena that locks you in the moment you step through. The place is littered with blood, and it’s not somewhere you want to be caught unprepared. Best move? Clear out every stray mob before getting close, or you’ll be trying to dodge her abilities and some random zombie at the same time. Trust me, bring decent cold resist gear — even a cheap ring from a vendor can save you here — and picking up a few PoE 2 Items to round out your defenses is smart. The fight feels cramped from the start. It’s a small circle, and Beira loves to own the middle with icy runes that slow your movement while chipping away at your health. Her Ice Spikes come up from the ground, easy enough to spot if you keep moving. Ice Blast, though, hits hard and can freeze you solid, leaving you open for her next move. Then there are the Rotten Wolves — nasty little adds that can trap you against the wall if you’re not paying attention, setting you up for her big AoE slam. Your best approach is to hug the outside of the arena. The center is dangerous, and locking yourself in a stationary attack animation right there will get you punished fast. Melee characters will want to dip in, land a hit or two, and get out before she turns on them. Ranged builds can kite more easily, but you’ll still need to watch the wolves. If you keep her casting and move in a predictable circle, you’ll avoid most of her bigger hits. This isn’t the fight to load up on pure damage. Cold resistance is key here, so take a moment before making the walk into her arena to check your numbers. Spend some currency if you need to bump it up — a ring, amulet, or even a simple armor swap can make the difference. Life flasks should be topped up, and if you have one rolled with anti-freeze, even better. It’s an Act 1 fight where living through it matters far more than killing her quickly. When you finally drop her, the rewards are worth the trouble. She’ll leave you the Head of the Winter Wolf, a quest item that permanently boosts your Cold Resistance by 10% — a huge help for what’s coming next. You might also get random loot drops, currency, or crafting materials. It’s a rough encounter, but it’s one that forces you to learn spacing and movement early in the game, and getting past it makes you much better prepared for later fights, especially once you start stacking more cheap PoE 2 Items to support your build.
